This is an excerpt from an article called "Kitchen Art — Patrick Caulfield" at Jellypress.com The English painter, Patrick Caulfield (1936 - 2005) painted this wonderful canvas in 1999 titled “Hemingway Never Ate Here.” I love the irreverence and humor of his Pop Art style, and especially this one with its reply to Zurbaran and his rose benighted teacup that speaks so eloquently in the painting that appeared here in the last Kitchen Art column.
